I saw Dr Grover about the results of some tests I had done, she explained the outcome to me in detail. She listened to my concerns and recommended some tablets to help with one of the issues. her manner was very pleasant and I left feeling happy knowing that she was genuinely interested in me as a patient.
nearly a month to wait for a doctor's appointment.
In the last 24 hours the receptionist has said:
1) Even though 1.5 weeks have elapsed for a repeat prescription to be completed by the doctor, it is still not complete for the Stoma Supplier, with no ETA. Response from the surgery receptionist: you will just have to do without Ileostomy bags for as many days as necessary until the doctor gets around to doing the prescription!
2) Surgical wound swab test results were lost & a practice doctor had chased them, to mitigate a readmission with IV antibiotics risk, but had not responded with an update as promised. Response from the surgery receptionist: give it a few more days & they may turn up, but there is nothing the surgery can do to chase / investigate / keep me updated!
3) When I asked to speak to the manager, who had helped with clinical mistakes by the practice in the past, the receptionist refused to put me through. When I pleasantly insisted, they agreed to pass a message but said that to manage my expectations, the manager rarely responded to patients so I was unlikely to hear from them.
4) When I asked to make a formal complaint they said they had logged it on the system but that the practice had a policy of not responding to patient complaints & would not take any action anyway!!!!!!!
2 days later and still have not heard anything from the manager or about my complaint....
This used to be a great practice but with many issues around repeat prescriptions, accountability, process mistakes, lack of staff, clinical errors (that the practice agreed had been made) I would highly recommend avoiding....
I had to wait over 30 minutes on the phone for an appointment and still didn't get an appointment. The only one I could book was 3 weeks later and was told I had to call on the day, but you can never get through. I had to settle for a call, however, given it is acute shoulder pain in will most likely result in an appointment. I have private health care but require an initial assessment from my GP.
Great permanent doctors and nurses, caring, knowledgable and remember issues between appointments. 3 reoccurring issues though:
1) They always take more than 20 minutes to answer their phone
2) Repeat prescriptions regularly take 1 month to be correctly written by the doctor
3) Locum GP's are usually useless. Luckily we usually get to see one of the permanent doctors
